    ● 250g Butter
    ● 250g Caster sugar
    ● 50g Dessicated coconut
    ● 800g Porridge oats
    ● 675g Golden syrup

    ● 250g Caster sugar
    ● 50g Dessicated coconut
    ● 800g Porridge oats
    ● 675g Golden syrup
What's different

Advance Preparation

Preheat oven to 165ºC/325ºF/Gas mark 3. Prepare ingredients as above. Line a ½ gastronome tray with greaseproof paper.

Method

  1. Melt butter and golden syrup in a suitable pan over a low heat and stir until both have fully melted.
  2. Place sugar, oats and dessicated coconut in a large bowl, carefully pour the butter and syrup mixture into the bowl.
  3. Mix until all ingredients are combined, pour into the pre-lined tray and press the mixture into the sides of the tray. Place into the oven and bake for 20-25 mins.
  4. Once cooked remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the tray.
  5. Cut into 30 bars and serve on a large plate.

Handy Hint

Wet your hands to press the mixture into the tray and it will not stick to them.
