As part of #StrongerTogether, our initiative in partnership with FFT.ie, we’re delighted to be recognising Hospitality Heroes: individuals or small teams from the hospitality sector who are doing amazing things to support their communities during the current crisis.
Our second Hospitality Hero is Limerick’s Hospitality Education and Training Centre, where a team of volunteers have come together to form Feed the Frontline, producing fresh meals seven days a week and delivered to healthcare staff across the mid-west.
Co-ordinated by centre manager Bernadette Enright, the extended team includes staff and volunteer trainees who, right from the crisis outbreak, were eager to use their hospitality skills and the centre’s production kitchen to support the local healthcare community. Frontline workers are said to be both touched and grateful for the meals.
The initiative has also seen huge support from business near and far in the supply of protective equipment, uniforms and food containers, meaning Feed the Frontline can safely produce and deliver meals to our healthcare heroes.
