On the 5th October 2011, Dublin: Hospitality Industry supporters including Executive Chef Derry Clarke gathered today at the launch of Hospitality Trust in L’Ecrivain restaurant, Dublin 2. The Trust (formerly known as The Catering Trust) was established in 2000, to reach out to those in need in the Irish Hospitality Industry and this year has achieved full charitable status.
Derry Clarke Executive Chef at L’Ecrivain is the face of the Hospitality Trust’s new poster campaign and at the launch said “Falling on hard times is something we can all face at some stage in our lives and I am pleased to know that for the Industry, Hospitality Trust is now here to support you”. He added “If you are in the industry and need assistance, please call or email them to speak confidentially to a representative who can help.”
Hosting the launch on behalf of the Trust, Honorary President Joan O’Shaughnessy unveiled the Trust’s newest supporter, Unilever Food Solutions, who have set out to raise funds in partnership with their Trade Partners. Representing Unilever at the launch was Jim Reeves, Customer Director Ireland who said “We are delighted to be involved in this worthy Industry specific charity and we believe other companies in the sector should embrace this opportunity to support our colleagues in the Hospitality Industry who require help at this time”.
Joan concluded the launch by urging those in Industry to get involved. She said “Hospitality Trust has been established to aid our Hospitality colleagues and I ask those of you to show your support and stand shoulder to shoulder with our industry friends in their time of need.”
