Hellmann's was born in 1905 when Richard Hellmann began selling mayonnaise made from his wife's own recipe. Two versions were originally sold, and to distinguish between them, Hellmann put a blue ribbon around one. The 'Blue Ribbon' label is still used today - it has become an icon of product design and proof of the enduring popularity of Hellmann's mayonnaise.
After 100 years, Hellmann's is now much more than mayonnaise. Along with Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise, today the range includes Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise, Hellmann's Heavy Mayonnaise and Hellmann's Garlic Mayonnaise, along with a range of delicious Hellmann's Salad Dressings.
