2008 Knorr Student Chef of the Year Competition entries now welcome

Inaugurated in 1997, previous Knorr Student Chef of the Year Competitions have been a huge success with past winners going on to enjoy fruitful careers in Ireland's food industry. 

Each year, second year students from participating catering colleges, training centres and Institutes of Technology nationwide are asked to create a menu consisting of both a starter and a main course dish using two Knorr products and any other Unilever Foodsolutions products such as Hellmann's, Flora and Colman's.

A number of finalists are then asked to prepare their culinary creations where expert judges assess their recipes and award marks accordingly.

The competition grows from year to year and enjoyed hightened media coverage in 2007 with a piece on the TV3 main evening news.

The 2008 Knorr Student Chef of the Year Competition will take place Wednesday 13th February.  Application forms are available now from catering lecturers at participating colleges.
